Join Donna Day as she takes us to Golconda, Illinois and the peaceful Shawnee National Forest. En route we'll make a stop at Giant City State Park's Lodge for a delicious Lunch. Then we're off to San Damiano Retreat Center where we'll check in for the next 3 nights. Dinner is you on your own tonight in Golconda. Tomorrow we'll pick up our local guide who will take us around and show us the hightlights of the Shawnee National Forest and some of its surrounding small towns. We'll see the Garden of the Gods and Cave in Rock. We'll ferry across the Ohio River to visit an Amish Store. Afternoon finds us back at San Damiano's where you'll have time to relax before dinner. A Fish Fry is served here at the retreat center. Tuesday we'll enjoy a 2-hour hike with a local guide for those adventurous passengers, otherwise you'll be able to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Dinner is on your own today at Diver Dan's. Our final day has us departing for home . We should arrive home early evening.
